About The Position

Assistant Managers run shifts in a fast-casual restaurant, working on the floor, line, and expo window to ensure food quality, guest hospitality, and a clear team game plan. They work alongside the General Manager to coach the crew and maintain quality, speed, and cleanliness. This is an hourly, non-exempt role paid for every hour worked. Birdcall is a growing restaurant group operating across Colorado, Arizona, and Texas, and describes this position as an opportunity to grow into management alongside new store and concept openings.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or supervisory experience preferred.
• Clear written and spoken communication in English.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and shift accounting.
• Sound judgment and the ability to motivate and coach a team.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an alcohol service permit and ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Run line checks, prep, and par levels, and expedite the pass while coaching the team on plating, temperature, and ticket times.
• Work the floor during peak periods, resolve guest complaints, and pass along compliments.
• Complete the FOH log, assign stations, schedule breaks, and lead pre-shift meetings.
• Lead and coach the team with daily feedback, and keep management informed about performance and staffing.
• Keep the workplace safe, clean, and harassment-free, and report incidents to the GM.
• Complete FOH and BOH checks every shift.
• Control labor, food cost, and waste, and follow cash-handling and banking procedures.
