The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The role requires setting an example for the crew, following all company policies and procedures, and expecting the same from team members. The assistant manager helps oversee staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store standards and cleanliness, customer service, marketing, attendance, and profitability. The position also involves general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Team members may also deliver products and flyers within a designated area. The work includes standing and walking for much of the day, handling supplies and food products, and working in conditions that may include changing temperatures, hot surfaces, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, and adverse weather. Delivery duties involve driving and may require carrying items and navigating stairs or other delivery-site terrain.
