About The Position

The Assistant Manager operates equipment, stocks and prepares ingredients and products, handles customer orders and inventory paperwork, and cleans the equipment and facility. The role includes delivering products by car to customers and distributing flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires open availability and includes leading and training team members.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Must pass a background check.
Open availability.
Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work independently and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to perform work involving prolonged standing, frequent walking and reaching, and occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to drive and make multiple deliveries per shift; delivery work may involve climbing five or more flights of stairs.
Ability to work around varying weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces and perform tasks requiring near- and mid-range vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders and take orders in person.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Deliver products by car to customers’ doors and deliver flyers and door hangers.
Train and lead team members.
Maintain cost controls and meet quality standards.
Unload and stock bulk deliveries, including moving cases with a hand truck.
Navigate the designated delivery area and delivery sites, including stairs and other challenging terrain.
