About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of a high-energy convenience store and may serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is away. The role combines customer service, team leadership, store operations, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, and financial oversight. Candidates need open availability and should expect to work weekends, holidays, and primarily second or third shifts. The work includes cleaning and maintaining the store, restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.

Requirements

Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Comfort performing physical tasks such as cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficiency in English and basic math skills.
Willingness to learn; Topshelf Manager Training is required in Tennessee.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers promptly, accurately, and courteously.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
