About The Position

The Assistant Manager is the first leadership hire at Shredder Bend and combines teaching with day-to-day gym operations. The role teaches ski and snowboard classes, private lessons, camps, and birthday parties while helping run the facility, support families, coordinate instructors, and maintain the gym. The Assistant Manager works directly with the owner and contributes ideas about how the business operates. The position is designed to grow into a Senior Manager role overseeing day-to-day operations. Teaching accounts for about half of the week. The Assistant Manager teaches fundamental skills on flat ground and slopes using the Shredder curriculum, helps children with equipment, maintains safe and engaging classes, and updates parents on children's progress. Operational duties include opening and closing the facility, running the front desk, responding to parents, leading safety checks and emergency response, and maintaining the gym and equipment. The role also supports the team and business by managing instructor schedules and coverage, onboarding and coaching instructors, administering class rosters and bookings, and resolving parent concerns. The position is full-time, hourly, and year-round, with at least 30 hours per week and up to 40 hours during peak season and camp weeks. Pay is $25–$28 per hour depending on experience, with reviews at 90 days and after the first full season. Shredder will pay for PSIA-AASI Children's Specialist certification and other relevant continuing education. The role offers a growth path to Senior Manager, along with free classes for the employee's children, industry perks, and referral bonuses.
