About The Position

Hot Topic is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives, including sales targets, recruiting, and team development. The role helps lead store operations and create an engaging in-store experience for customers and employees. The Assistant Manager contributes to sales, customer engagement, merchandising, operational performance, and the development of a high-performing, customer-focused team.

Requirements

• At least 1–2 years of retail store management experience.
• Experience leading teams to success and interest in continued leadership development.
• Communication, recruiting, operations, payroll, reporting, scheduling, and merchandising skills.
• Time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to develop team members.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing retail environment and handle unexpected challenges.
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to move around the store, merchandise products using approved store equipment, and pack and unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and comparable-sales goals.
• Help recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative and passionate store team.
• Promote new products and customer engagement through social media, BOPIS, curbside pickup, and other offerings.
• Lead sound store operations, balancing operational needs, delegation, associate autonomy, and customer-first selling practices.
• Monitor shrink and loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
• Communicate collaboratively with retail leadership and headquarters partners about trends and customer feedback.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategies for achieving sales targets.
• Merchandise the store using planograms as a guide and launch promotions on time.
• Partner with the Store Manager to develop loyal, high-performing, customer-focused associates.
