About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with daily retail store or outlet operations. The role uses critical thinking, interpersonal skills, active listening, and management abilities to meet sales expectations and provide customer-focused service. The Assistant Store Manager oversees personnel and helps ensure efficient store operations. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and build a retail career while contributing to the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of management experience for external candidates.
• Internal candidates may qualify with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the Goodwill Team Leader role.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to staff, program participants, donors, and customers to achieve production and quality goals, meet sales expectations, and ensure efficient store or outlet operations.
• Follow organizational policies and procedures for retail staff, supporting a positive internal and external appearance of retail operations.
• Use strong oral and written communication, organizational, management, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and customer-service skills.
