About The Position

The Assistant Manager partners with the General Manager to help manage overall store operations, including accounting, marketing, customer service, human resources, and food service. The role manages, assists, and directs the store team in accordance with company policies and procedures, and takes responsibility for store operations when the General Manager is absent.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
At least 1 year of retail management experience and/or equivalent education.
Valid driver's license.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Team-oriented, customer-focused, honest, hardworking, and dependable with excellent attendance.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Participate hands-on in daily customer service, management, and food service operations.
Work with the FiveStar team to provide customer service according to company policies and procedures.
Assist with timely and thorough training of the store team.
Help educate the store team about company policies and communications.
Assist the General Manager in resolving store issues effectively and in a lasting manner.
Manage merchandising and adequate inventory levels, including displays, pricing, promotional signage, and out-of-stock items.
Practice and promote the FiveStar treatment by maintaining a friendly atmosphere, meeting customer needs, and using suggestive selling.
Help ensure inventory controls are in place, equipment is in good condition, staffing is adequate, labor budgets are followed, accounting and paperwork are completed on time, and safety and robbery-prevention guidelines are followed.
Help oversee food operations, including food service area appearance, food quality, tracking, promotions, signage, and compliance with food service guidelines.
Manage store operations in the General Manager's absence.
Learn and understand profit and loss (P&L) statements.
