About The Position
At La Madeleine, the Assistant Manager helps lead a neighborhood café by inspiring the team, creating memorable guest experiences, and supporting operational success. The role supports the General Manager in meeting restaurant goals and improving operations. It includes guiding and developing hourly team members, maintaining hospitality and food-safety standards, overseeing shift procedures, and contributing to cost, inventory, marketing, and community outreach efforts. The position operates in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with possible exposure to hot equipment, kitchen hazards, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise. It requires frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching, including occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. A background check may be required, and continued employment is contingent on satisfactory results in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality leadership.

Responsibilities
- Support and guide hourly team members through scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Lead positively and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Set expectations for hospitality and professionalism on every shift.
- Assist with daily operations, including opening and closing, food quality, cleanliness, and compliance.
- Maintain safety and sanitation standards in accordance with brand and regulatory expectations.
- Execute procedures efficiently and consistently to support smooth shift operations.
- Interact with guests to promote satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly.
- Promote seasonal menu items and encourage return visits.
- Help manage labor, cost of goods, and daily inventory.
- Support the General Manager in executing restaurant goals and operational improvements.
- Analyze trends and assist with local marketing and community outreach.
- Onboard and train new team members on La Madeleine standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Identify rising stars and help develop an internal talent pipeline.
