About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in day-to-day convenience store operations and helps maintain a high-energy, customer-focused store. The role includes customer service and register work, team leadership, hiring and training, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, and maintaining store cleanliness. The Assistant Manager serves as acting manager when the Store Manager is unavailable. Open availability is required, with work expected on weekends and holidays and primarily on second or third shifts.

Requirements

Open availability, including availability to work weekends and holidays and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Comfort performing cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks, including cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining areas around fuel pumps.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficient in English and possess basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a positive attitude.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean, welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Perform daily cash handling and deposits and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
