About The Position
The Assistant Manager operates equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The position also involves delivering products by car to customers’ doors, delivering flyers and door hangers, and navigating to addresses within the designated delivery area, including across varied terrain and in multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products. The role requires accurate and quick basic arithmetic, making correct monetary change, verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing, and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. It also requires precise, rapid hand-eye coordination; comprehension and communication of written instructions; and verbal communication with customers and co-workers in person and by phone. The stated starting rate is $17–$19 per hour, plus bonus.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
