About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The role delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. It requires navigating delivery areas and terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products. The position also requires accurate arithmetic and change-making; verbal, written, and telephone communication; precise, rapid motor coordination; keyboard or touchscreen order entry; comprehension of written instructions; and map-reading and address-finding skills.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, using a calculator if needed.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain while carrying products.
