About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in maintaining a customer-centric environment, prioritizing customers while driving sales. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Assistant Store Manager manages day-to-day store operations, staffing, and inventory. The role collaborates with the Store Manager to lead Associates and provide customers with extraordinary service. The position is located at South Coast Plaza.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in retail sales.
1–2 years of experience in retail management.
Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Effective customer engagement skills.
Basic merchandising and visual skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to stand and walk for an eight-hour shift, climb a ladder, and lift at least 15 pounds.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Must be able to work single shifts, including working alone from time to time.

Responsibilities

Manage sales and expenses to optimize results.
Support the Store Manager in maintaining staffing levels that meet business needs and ensure excellent customer service.
Ensure adequate shift coverage and scheduling based on business needs, including covering shifts when a scheduled Associate is unable to work.
Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, hiring, and training Associates.
Maintain brand standards for cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation.
Support the Store Manager in building a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Understand sales goals and align behaviors accordingly.
Supervise and train staff in the Store Manager’s absence.
