About The Position

As an Assistant Manager at Best Friend by Roy Choi in Park MGM, you will play a crucial role in the vibrant energy of our unique bodega-bar-restaurant fusion on the Strip. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly while creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Koreatown and the culinary legacy of Chef Roy Choi. In this dynamic environment, you will set the stage for an exceptional guest experience, greeting patrons with a welcoming smile and attentive service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their dining journey, crafting WOW moments that will resonate long after their visit. At Roy Choi’s Best Friend, we celebrate Chef Roy’s culinary greatest hits—from the iconic Kogi food truck inspirations to exciting new dishes—paired perfectly with handcrafted cocktails. As resident DJs spin their favorite vinyls, you’ll help curate an unforgettable ambiance that enhances our guests' experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
• 2+ years of prior relevant management experience in a high-volume dining environment required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Korean Cuisine preferred
• Previous experience managing employees under a Collective Bargaining Agreement preferred

Responsibilities

• Review daily schedules and manage time off and vacation requests, coach and train on policies, procedures, and performance
• Supervise cashiers to ensure correct policies and procedures for check handling and closing are maintained by service staff as well as manage activities; means of access and egress, to ensure complete compliance with Health Department and Fire Marshall Regulations
• Directly communicate with the Chef on all food service and menu issues
• Assist in seasonal menu changes and holiday menu changes
• Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing
• Exercise cost controls for all aspects of restaurant operation
• Manage pricing and maintenance issues to ensure checks can be processed correctly
• Direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations
