About The Position

The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The role requires setting an example for the crew, following all policies and procedures, and ensuring the team does the same. Duties also include staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, maintaining store standards and cleanliness, marketing, customer service, attendance and punctuality, and supporting profitability. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

This is an active restaurant role involving order taking and processing, food preparation, stocking, inventory, cleaning, and use of store equipment. Work may include standing and walking for much of the shift, lifting and carrying supplies, moving trays, and bending, reaching, crouching, or occasionally climbing stairs or a ladder. The work environment may include temperature extremes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Ability to use judgment, perform math, and multitask.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; may use a calculator.
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders and communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and occasional climbing.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
