About The Position

ARLO is the award-winning, Cali-Baja, scratch-cooking, DJ-brunching, patio-fireplace-having restaurant at Town and Country Resort. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who can run a shift effectively, ensure food quality, and provide exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for achieving high standards and a genuine interest in San Diego and Baja food culture.

Requirements

2+ years of restaurant management or strong assistant-management experience, upscale casual or better.
A trusted palate and willingness to voice opinions on food quality.
Ability to remain calm and effective during busy periods and under pressure.
Real leadership instincts, fostering a positive work environment for staff.
A genuine interest in San Diego and Baja food culture.
Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Run the floor during service, managing table flow, staffing, and timing.
Coach and develop front-of-house staff to ensure consistent guest experience.
Partner with the kitchen to ensure food quality, including flavor, plating, and temperature.
Manage guest recovery in real time, addressing complaints and resolving issues effectively.
Monitor cost controls, scheduling, and inventory while maintaining a focus on hospitality.
Assist in building systems and standards to achieve recognition.
Step in for the General Manager when needed and represent ARLO.
