Assistant Manager - Fit 'N' Furry
About The Position
The Assistant Manager works hand-in-hand with the Center Manager to support daily operations at Best Friends Pet Care’s Fit 'N' Furry facility. The role helps maintain the company’s pet-care standards and ensures a safe, clean, compliant environment for pets, clients, and staff. The Assistant Manager leads facility operations in the Center Manager’s absence and supports inventory, payroll, scheduling, and administrative work. The position also assists with recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing team members; builds relationships with pet parents and handles their questions and feedback; and supports community outreach, promotions, and marketing. It oversees boarding, daycare, and grooming services, monitors pet behavior and well-being, and maintains records of pet care, incidents, and daily routines. The work takes place in an action-packed pet-care environment and requires the ability to lift large dogs.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the Center Manager to oversee daily operations and maintain Best Friends Pet Care standards.
- Lead operations in the Center Manager’s absence.
- Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards are met or exceeded.
- Assist with inventory management, supply availability, and expense management.
- Support payroll processes, scheduling, and day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Assist with recruiting, training, mentoring, and shadowing team members.
- Help create work schedules that balance business needs with team well-being.
- Promote staff professional development and positive morale.
- Build relationships with pet parents and handle client inquiries, feedback, and requests professionally.
- Collaborate on community outreach, promotions, and marketing efforts.
- Oversee boarding, daycare, and grooming services to help ensure pets are safe, healthy, and happy.
- Monitor pet behavior and address concerns promptly and compassionately.
- Maintain detailed records of pet care, incidents, and daily routines.
