The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, inventory, customer relations, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The role requires following all company policies and procedures and setting an example for the crew. Assistant Managers are expected to maintain attendance and punctuality, work to a schedule, and uphold store image, standards, and customer service. General store-team duties may include operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The job includes delivery duties: delivering products to customers by car, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating the delivery area. Other duties described for Driver and Customer Service Representative positions may also be included, and additional duties may arise. Work involves standing for most tasks, walking short distances, completing paperwork while seated, and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching. Conditions may include variable weather, temperatures from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees or higher in some work areas, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Delivery work also involves driving and exposure to weather, navigating stairs and other terrain, and carrying products to customer locations.
