About The Position
The Assistant Manager performs equipment operation, ingredient stocking and product preparation, handles telephone orders, takes inventory and completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role also includes delivering products by car to customers and distributing flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires the ability to communicate with customers and coworkers, train and lead, process orders, maintain cost controls, and make accurate judgments and decisions. The job involves working in a restaurant environment with varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Most tasks are performed standing, with frequent walking and continuous hand use. Duties may include lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling trays, bending, crouching, reaching, climbing stairs, and driving within a designated delivery area. Delivery work can involve navigating adverse terrain and multiple flights of stairs.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must pass a background check.
- Open availability.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination to make precise, rapid movements with speed.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to perform the physical duties described, including lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
