About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, and completes related paperwork. The role includes cleaning equipment and the facility, delivering products by car to customers, and distributing flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves working in a food-service environment with varied temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Most tasks are performed standing, with walking between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations. The role also includes physical tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies, navigating stairs and other terrain, and reaching, bending, or crouching as needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to lift and move cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carry other listed products and supplies.
- Ability to stand, walk, drive, push or pull trays, climb stairs, and perform bending, crouching, and reaching tasks.
