The Sherwin-Williams Assistant Manager Trainee Program is an accelerated, entry-level position designed to prepare current employees for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. After successful completion of the initial 6–8-week training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Trainees collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute leadership and insight to the store’s development and strategy. The program provides experience in store operations, customer relationships, and internal strategy. Trainees also help grow market share by selling to commercial customers who purchase products in large volumes. Training covers customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and operations, and includes development support and opportunities to build relationships in the community. The position is eligible for a performance-based bonus and company benefits, including health coverage, spending accounts, disability coverage, retirement and savings benefits, and time away from work. Duties involve contact with customers, including potentially minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuable items. The company has determined that criminal-history review is necessary for business and safety purposes.
