About The Position

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Manager - Optical to oversee daily store operations, including personnel management and inventory control. The role supports an affordable, accessible eye care and eyewear experience and helps ensure a positive experience for customers and associates. The position oversees the eyeglass department, monitors business results, and supports the General Manager in staffing and team leadership. Store duties and work practices may vary where state laws require specific licenses or credentials. America's Best stores are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

Optical sales experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills, including planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals, including reviewing the P&L.
Oversee and optimize the eyeglass department for efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it.
Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce applicable policies.
Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office, and provide store reporting as required.
Ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and that associates and doctors know about current promotions.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and Contact Lens Sales associates, and in some stores Receptionists; ensure timely completion of daily functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining staff.
Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
