About The Position

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Manager - Optical to help oversee daily store operations, including personnel management and inventory control. The role supports a positive customer experience and helps maintain an effective, motivated team. The eyeglass department is managed to meet operational standards, company policies, and performance goals. Stores are closed on Sundays. The Assistant Manager works with the General Manager, District Manager, Corporate Office, associates, and doctors to support store performance and communication. Job duties and work practices may vary in locations where state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials.

Requirements

Optical sales experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals, including reviewing the P&L.
Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it.
Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.
Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office, and provide store reporting as required.
Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place, and that associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates, and in some stores the Receptionist, ensuring timely completion of day-to-day functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high-caliber staff.
Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
