About The Position

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Manager - Optical to oversee the eyeglass department and support daily store operations. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by managing personnel and inventory, maintaining operational standards, and supporting store performance. The position works with the General Manager, District Manager, Corporate Office, associates, and doctors. Store duties may vary to comply with state laws requiring certain work to be performed by people with specific licenses or credentials. Stores are closed every Sunday.

Requirements

Optical sales experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and build relationships with associates.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals, including reviewing the P&L.
Oversee and optimize the eyeglass department to support efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it.
Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce applicable policies.
Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office, and provide store reports as required.
Ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place, and that associates and doctors know about current promotions.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and contact lens sales associates, and, in some stores, receptionists; ensure timely completion of day-to-day duties.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs and recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high-caliber staff.
Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
