About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Wine, Beer & Liquor is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service by the entire team and managing departmental inventory, profit margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity, and merchandising standards. The role ensures Team Members receive appropriate training, provides and receives feedback to support growth and execution, and leads the department in meeting its expectations.

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple teams and product lines simultaneously.
• Ability to consistently meet departmental profit margin targets.
• Ability to collaborate with Store Operations, the VP and Support Group, and other Team Leaders on purchasing issues.
• Ability to work a variety of retail shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to four hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.

• Deliver exceptional service to customers.
• Lead the Team Members in the department.
• Communicate effectively with customers, Team Members, Store Leadership, and the Director Group.
• Manage departmental inventory, profit margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity, and merchandising standards.
• Ensure Team Members receive the training needed to meet expectations.
• Give and receive feedback that fosters growth and supports execution.
• Coach buyers to order enough product to keep the department stocked without overstocking.
• Collaborate with Store Operations, the VP and Support Group, and other Team Leaders on purchasing issues.
• Adhere to Plum Market policies and standard operating procedures.
