About The Position

The Kitchen Assistant Manager works behind the scenes to ensure proper staffing, products, customer service, food preparation, and kitchen execution so every order meets expectations. The role manages the food service program, including inventory, preparation, promotion, production, service, and sales, and provides leadership for day-to-day store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of certification testing as needed.
ServeSafe certification.
Any other legally required certification.

Nice To Haves

Two-year degree in a business-related field preferred.
One year of experience supervising others in a fast food, restaurant, retail, or convenience operation preferred.

Responsibilities

Back up the Store Manager and provide input on recruitment, selection, training, and performance management of store employees.
Provide input into scheduling.
Handle customer questions, complaints, and concerns in a timely manner.
Monitor employee compliance with Sheetz policies, procedures, and programs.
Follow up on responses from customer service shops, QA audits, secret shops, and SMG surveys.
Oversee kitchen recipes, proper portioning, and product rotation.
Create build-to’s and follow up on orders and store organization.
Manage inventory, keep products stocked, and identify opportunities to eliminate waste.
Monitor waste, expenses, and variances to support cost savings.
Oversee food service rollouts.
Lead day-to-day store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
