About The Position
The Assistant Manager II works with the Store Manager to lead store associates and create positive experiences for customers and the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while assisting with store functions, maintaining store standards, and supporting the Store Manager with merchandise flow and sales-floor effectiveness. The position also involves keeping the store clean, safe, and presentable and fostering professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Prior retail experience is preferred.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
- Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
- Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
- Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
- Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
- Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
