About The Position

The Assistant Manager II supports the Store Manager with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role helps with daily store activities, assists customers, maintains merchandise and store presentation, and completes opening and closing procedures as needed. It also supports compliance with corporate directives, store policies, safety guidelines, recordkeeping, loss prevention, and protection of company assets. The position helps supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and contributes to a positive, safe, respectful, and professional environment. Store cleanliness is part of the role, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor as needed, and maintain seasonal store areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain the promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged merchandise processing, recordkeeping, payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
Maintain the sales floor and stockroom to company standards, including keeping the sales floor well stocked and the stockroom organized.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and ensure Store Associates follow them.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
