About The Position

The Assistant Operations Manager supports daily property operations while developing the leadership skills and strategic perspective needed to become an Operations Manager. This developmental role is part of the Manager-in-Training program and provides hands-on experience in operational oversight, team coordination, process improvement, resource management, and organizational effectiveness. The program intends to promote participants to an Operations Manager role within 1–2 years, provided they remain employed, meet program expectations, and a suitable role is available. Promotion may require relocation anywhere in the United States. Location preferences may be expressed, but assignments are determined by company needs and are not guaranteed. If a suitable role is available and the employee is unwilling or unable to relocate, another role may not be available, which could result in separation of employment. The role partners closely with operations management on property operations and strategy. The successful candidate must be able to perform the position’s essential functions satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations will be made upon request for employees with disabilities unless doing so would cause undue hardship. The employee must be able to return to the property within 30 minutes in unforeseen circumstances. Macerich prioritizes in-person work at its offices to support collaboration, relationships, and company culture. It offers Remote Fridays for corporate offices and Forever Fridays for retail properties. Total compensation is $109,000–$141,000, consisting of base compensation plus 10% bonus potential. Final salary offers are determined based on experience, qualifications, and role requirements and discussed during the interview process.
