About The Position

The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for supporting the planning and directing of the Food & Nutrition Services Department at Soth Roanoke Nursing Home. This role involves participating in the total plan of care for residents, enhancing productivity, ensuring compliance, undertaking staffing responsibilities (including hiring, training, and evaluating staff), assisting in budgeting and monitoring expenses, assisting with staff scheduling, and performing other duties as requested by the Director of Food & Nutrition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of state or ADA approved course in food services
  • Experience in an institutional food service operation
  • One-year supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of individual
  • Knowledge of dietary services practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary services in a long-term care facility
