About The Position

The Growing Years of Cary is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Infant Teacher to support the infant age group. The assistant teacher supports the lead teacher with classroom activities and care consistent with the center’s philosophy and goals, and helps foster children’s emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment and building professional relationships with families. Candidates should have a positive attitude and enjoy working with children.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Completion of early childhood education credentials, or 6 credits of early childhood education courses or their equivalent.
Ability to pass all background checks.
Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
Implement activities that encourage each child’s emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
Accept direction, constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements or changes as needed to support program quality.
Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
Establish professional rapport with each family to provide quality care for children.
Perform physical activities around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs; lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
