About The Position

The Assistant in Training (AIT) helps fulfill Buckle’s mission to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. Working directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team, the AIT supports sales development, recruiting, Teammate training and motivation, merchandising, and store operations. The AIT and Assistant Manager share most duties; the Assistant Manager role is a progression from AIT and includes additional higher-level responsibilities. Duties include cashiering, merchandise displays and pulls, register procedures, routine facility cleaning, inventory and freight tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized, shoppable store. The position requires a flexible schedule based on store and business needs, including possible mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas. The position regularly involves working in a retail store setting, where noise is usually moderate. Physical demands include standing, walking, handling and reaching, climbing or balancing and jumping, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting and maneuvering up to 50 pounds throughout the store and backroom. Sitting is occasionally required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
