About The Position

The Assistant in Training (AIT) supports the Store Manager and Leadership Team in fulfilling Buckle’s mission to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. The role combines sales, customer service, merchandising, store operations, recruiting, training, and leadership. AITs perform routine store duties such as cashiering, merchandise displays and pulls, register procedures, and facility cleaning. They help develop sales, recruit and motivate Teammates, and may act as Store Manager in the Store Manager’s absence. The Assistant Manager position is a progression from AIT and includes additional higher-level duties, though most responsibilities are shared. This position focuses on delivering strong Guest service and sales results, developing Teammates, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and ensuring the store operates effectively. AITs work with store leadership to plan sales goals, train and coach Teammates, execute store plans and checklists, and maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store. The role may require travel to cover other stores in the district based on business needs. The posted pay range is $20–$25 per hour. For sales positions, compensation includes a base rate plus sales commission; the stated range is the estimated base rate plus 3% commission for Teammates in this position. Final offers depend on factors including skills, experience, location, and qualifications. Buckle describes separate benefit offerings for full-time and part-time Teammates.
