This position involves responding to guest requests for special arrangements or services, answering golfer questions about the course, and promoting and selling golf shop merchandise. The Assistant Golf Pro is responsible for opening and closing the golf shop daily, collecting all golf-related fees, managing cash, and running closing reports. They will also schedule tee times, communicate with course staff regarding the tee sheet, and maintain the cleanliness of golf-related areas. Responsibilities include totaling the tee sheet for accuracy, stocking and displaying merchandise, and notifying management of any important issues. Additionally, this role involves teaching individual and group golf lessons in accordance with PGA/LPGA and Marriott standards. The position also requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service. This includes welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking them with appreciation. Communication skills are essential, including speaking clearly and professionally, answering telephones with proper etiquette, and developing positive working relationships with colleagues. The role also requires entering and locating information using computers and POS systems, and performing other reasonable job duties as requested.
