About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) combines hands-on leadership with operational support. The role helps drive sales through guest engagement, merchandising execution, and team development while supporting daily store operations. Working closely with the General Manager, the AGM helps ensure smooth store operations, supports team members, and delivers an exceptional MilkShake Factory guest experience. The ideal candidate is a people-first, hands-on leader who coaches by example and supports a positive team culture, strong business performance, and operational excellence.

The position includes supporting team hiring, training, coaching, and development; assisting with front- and back-of-house operations; maintaining store systems and food-safety standards; promoting guest hospitality and brand knowledge; supporting sales and local marketing; assisting with inventory and labor management; and reinforcing security procedures. Work may involve flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with occasional extended hours during peak periods, special events, or other business needs.

Requirements

• At least two years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in a leadership or senior role.
• A strong track record of supporting operational excellence and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Strong leadership and a 'leader, not boss' mindset.
• Ability to build team culture and deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing business needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn POS and scheduling systems.
• Commitment to developing others and supporting long-term team growth.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift and/or handle packaged goods and materials up to and including 25 lbs.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move frequently in a fast-paced store environment.
• Availability for flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to work occasional extended hours during peak periods, special events, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support hiring, training, and coaching team members.
• Lead by example and help foster an inclusive, encouraging team environment.
• Partner with the General Manager on development plans, retention initiatives, performance discussions, and day-to-day coaching.
• Support daily front- and back-of-house operations to help shifts run smoothly and efficiently.
• Help maintain cash-handling, food-safety, inventory, and performance-tracking systems.
• Assist with opening and closing routines.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food-safety standards.
• Create a warm, welcoming guest experience and model and coach friendly service.
• Share the MilkShake Factory story and build product knowledge and brand enthusiasm among team members.
• Support sales through merchandising, upselling, bundling, and guest interactions.
• Assist with monitoring operational performance and provide updates to the General Manager.
• Support local marketing initiatives, seasonal promotions, and community engagement.
• Maintain inventory control and reduce waste through quality checks and trend awareness.
• Assist with schedule planning to balance staffing coverage and labor goals.
• Help ensure team members are trained, prepared, and positioned for key roles.
• Reinforce accountability for attendance, shift readiness, and operational expectations.
• Follow and reinforce security routines involving alarms, cameras, locks, cash handling, and incident reporting.
