About The Position

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for communicating with individuals or groups verbally and in writing, driving and implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals, and forecasting and following up on staffing, workload, and performance results. They will manage assigned financial aspects, monitor and ensure facility-wide compliance with quality and safety standards, and investigate and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The role involves serving as a community liaison, supervising and managing associates and leaders, and fostering a culture of belonging and development. Key principles include respecting the individual, acting with integrity, serving customers, and striving for excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 2 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide
  • OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates
  • OR 4 years experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics /retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Drive, develop, and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) and implement operational improvements.
  • Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
  • Manage assigned financial aspects by monitoring and tracking expenses compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Monitor and ensure facility-wide compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Investigate and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Serve as a community liaison by participating in local and community organizations and charitable activities, and championing company-sponsored programs and events.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, communicating goals, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teach and support Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates facility-wide.
