About The Position

The Assistant General Manager provides and promotes a Clean, Friendly, and In-Stock experience for every customer. The role leads the store team in upholding Buc-ee’s standards when the Store General Manager is absent. It involves managing store personnel, ensuring product quality, and promoting customer service. Assistant General Managers typically work a minimum 48-hour work week, primarily during early mornings and afternoons, including most weekends and holidays.

Requirements

A college or university degree; or one to two or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a job-related field.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Ability to walk and/or stand for 8–12 continuous hours.
Ability to work the store’s busiest days, including most weekends and holidays.
Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night.
Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
Able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Retail or management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Store General Manager in their absence or at their discretion.
Demonstrate competent knowledge of various point-of-sale and transaction devices.
Reconcile multiple shift reports.
Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and in a friendly, professional manner.
Assign and inspect elements listed on the shift duty list.
Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees.
Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws applicable to retail sales and general employment matters.
Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, evaluating, and managing employees.
Ensure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed.
Use small keyboards on point-of-sale and transactional devices accurately and rapidly.
Identify and resolve immediate customer and store needs without constant supervision.
Complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
Interact professionally with other team members.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
