About The Position

The Assistant General Manager helps provide and promote a clean, friendly, and in-stock experience for every customer. This role leads the store team in upholding Buc-ee’s standards when the Store General Manager is absent or at their discretion. The Assistant General Manager manages store personnel, ensures product quality, and promotes customer service. The position typically requires a minimum 48-hour work week, primarily involving early mornings and afternoons, and includes most weekends and holidays. The role may involve a rotating schedule alternating between day and night.

Requirements

• A college or university degree, or at least 1–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a job-related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for 8–12 continuous hours.
• Ability to work the store’s busiest days, including most weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Store General Manager in their absence or at their discretion.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of various point-of-sale and transaction devices.
• Reconcile multiple shift reports.
• Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assign and inspect elements listed on the shift duty list.
• Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees.
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws relating to retail sales and general employment matters.
• Assist the General Manager with recruiting, training, evaluating, and managing employees.
• Ensure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed.
• Use small keyboards on point-of-sale and transactional devices accurately and quickly.
• Identify and resolve immediate customer and store needs without constant supervision.
• Complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Interact professionally with other team members.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
