Assistant General Manager
About The Position
The Assistant General Manager helps lead front-of-house restaurant operations at Tommy Bahama. The role creates a learning environment that supports sales and service success and team members’ career growth, while prioritizing guest service, efficient operations, and compliance with company policies. The Assistant General Manager facilitates training, monitors on-the-job performance, partners with the General Manager on recruiting and team development, and cultivates open communication with restaurant, regional, and corporate teams. The position also supports safety programs and helps maintain a clean, safe, professional, and upbeat environment. Shifts are scheduled according to business needs.
Requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Stand routinely for the duration of a shift.
- Safely maneuver equipment and tools such as a hand cart, blenders, knives, slicers, and wine keys.
- Work scheduled shifts determined by business needs.
Responsibilities
- Create a learning environment for front-of-house restaurant team members that promotes sales and service success and internal career growth.
- Prioritize guest service and ensure front-of-house operations run efficiently and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate company learning and training programs, follow up, and monitor performance to ensure learned skills transfer to the job.
- Partner with the General Manager to implement strategies for increasing qualified applicants, including proactive recruiting.
- Hire, develop, and mentor the team.
- Cultivate open, authentic dialogue with the restaurant team and regional and corporate partners.
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures.
- Incorporate and administer applicable restaurant, employee, and guest safety programs.
- Help create a clean, safe, professional, and upbeat environment.
