Assistant General Manager
About The Position
The Assistant General Manager provides overall leadership, supervision, and direction for strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact business results in selected front-of-house and back-of-house areas, under the guidance of the General Manager. The role oversees all aspects of the business, from operational details to broader business objectives, in a fast-paced restaurant and entertainment environment. The position involves managing teams and operations in a high-volume setting, with workweeks averaging 50 hours and shifts that may involve walking five miles. The Assistant General Manager helps create memorable guest experiences through food, drinks, and games, while maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff and improving execution through attention to detail and adherence to operating standards.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least 5 years of restaurant or hospitality experience.
- Proficiency in managing cost of goods sold and labor.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to lead a team in creating a memorable guest experience.
- Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with distracting conditions.
- Ability to handle high-volume business days, walk approximately five miles per shift, and work an average of 50 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Promote positive employee relations through effective delegation of managerial duties and by fostering high staff morale.
- Analyze financial reports and develop action plans to grow revenue and control costs to meet or exceed annual budgets.
- Ensure staff training programs are executed.
- Ensure staffing levels and management coverage meet business needs and maximize the customer experience.
- Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks, and games.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
- Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to operating standards and procedures.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and direction for strategic initiatives and operating standards in selected front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
