About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Outlet Manager to work with its Food & Beverage team at a luxury Five-Star, Five-Diamond property in the heart of Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The position supports outlet operations in a diverse, multi-outlet property and includes overseeing service, staff activities, reservations, and guest seating. The role also uses the POS and HOTsos systems according to established policies and procedures. This job description is a guide rather than an exhaustive list; tasks may be added or removed by the immediate supervisor as the working environment changes. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The salary range is $63,000–$65,000 per year.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a three-meal-period restaurant in a Five-Star hotel.
• In-depth understanding of various cuisines, wines, and pairings.
• Relevant professional qualifications, such as in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing.
• Fluent English-speaking ability.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outlet activities, including staff scheduling, delegation of job tasks, service monitoring and supervision, reservations and table assignments when applicable, and maintaining a managerial presence on the floor.
• Train, mentor, motivate, and supervise department employees, and assist the department manager with employee discipline.
• Provide friendly, discreet, and unobtrusive service while greeting, seating, and serving guests.
• Manage restaurant reservations and seating in accordance with service standards and revenue objectives.
• Use POS and HOTsos systems in accordance with established policies and procedures.
