About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Outlet Manager to work with its team of Food & Beverage professionals at a luxury Five-Star Five-Diamond property on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The role supports outlet operations in a diverse, multi-outlet property and includes oversight of service, staff scheduling and supervision, reservations, and guest experience. The salary range is $63,000–$65,000 per year. Applicants must have work authorization in the United States.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a three-meal-period restaurant in a Five-Star hotel.
• In-depth understanding of various cuisines, wines, and pairings.
• Fluent English-speaking ability.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outlet activities, including staff scheduling, delegation of job tasks, monitoring and supervising service, managing reservations and table assignments when applicable, and maintaining a managerial presence on the floor.
• Train, mentor, motivate, and supervise department employees, and assist the department manager with employee discipline.
• Provide friendly, discreet, and unobtrusive service when greeting, seating, and serving guests.
• Manage restaurant reservations and seating in accordance with service standards while maximizing revenue.
• Use the POS and HOTsos systems according to established policies and procedures.
