About The Position
The Assistant Executive Steward oversees stewarding operations across all food and beverage outlets and banquets at Hotel del Coronado, managing a team of up to 50 and reporting directly to the Executive Steward. The role supports strategic oversight of property-wide stewarding operations and helps deliver memorable guest experiences. The Assistant Executive Steward supports inventory control and sanitation, helps maintain food service equipment, assists with cost management, and contributes to team oversight and development. The position also ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations. The role calls for an exceptional leader interested in continued growth within food and beverage, with strong organizational and critical-thinking skills and thorough knowledge of banquet function execution.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of food and beverage management experience in high-volume operations.
- Experience handling administrative duties.
- Excellent organizational and critical-thinking skills.
- Thorough knowledge of banquet function execution.
- Exceptional leadership and a drive for continued growth within food and beverage.

Responsibilities
- Assist with daily coordination, distribution, storage, and maintenance of china, glassware, linen, silver, and other essential items; ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Assist in implementing and overseeing sanitation procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in securing and maintaining food service equipment and ensuring its functionality.
- Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities to support departmental efficiency and profitability.
- Assist with day-to-day team oversight, shift scheduling, coaching, professional development, evaluations, and recognition.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations to support guest and team member wellbeing.
