About The Position
The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for an Assistant Executive Steward to join the team! Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. In this role, you will oversee stewarding operations across all food and beverage outlets and banquets managing a team of up to 50 and reporting directly to the Executive Steward. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader with a drive for continued growth within food & beverage, excellent organizational and critical thinking skills, and thorough knowledge of banquet function execution. At least 3 years of food & beverage management experience in high-volume operations and experience handling administrative duties is required. Union experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Assist with daily coordination, distribution, storage and maintenance of essential items – including china, glassware, linen, and silver – ensuring accuracy and availability for all operations
- Assist in implementing and overseeing sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist in securing, maintaining, and ensuring the functionality of food service equipment
- Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities to support departmental efficiency and profitability
- Assist with day-to-day team oversight, scheduling shifts, coaching and professional development, conducting evaluations, and recognizing achievements
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member wellbeing
