About The Position

Mortenson is hiring an Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager to support its growing Data Center group. The role partners with other Equipment Solutions Managers to provide leadership and project assistance. The position is based in New Mexico and includes interior and exterior responsibilities, with an expected travel requirement of 25%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in construction, equipment rental, and/or project management, or 8+ years of equivalent professional trade experience.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance and service schedules.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize based on workload.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel 25%.

• Experience with budget planning and financial oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize owned equipment, storage, and tooling.
• Plan and schedule equipment with internal project teams, equipment solutions teams, and third-party vendors.
• Manage large inventories.
• Perform financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Manage rental software contracts.
• Plan equipment logistics.
• Manage vendor relations.
• Understand construction equipment maintenance, opportunities, constraints, and requirements.
• Establish improved efficiencies and process improvement plans for the warehouse and equipment yard using 5S strategies.
• Lead department initiatives, including development, training, and support.
• Manage a team of craft and non-craft team members.
• Support innovation by encouraging new process development.
