About The Position

The Assistant Driver collaborates with the driver to ensure timely and accurate delivery of product orders to assigned customer accounts. The role assists with delivery, sales, truck maintenance, inventory management, and the overall success of product distribution. L&F Distributors provides beverage distribution services and emphasizes strong customer and supplier relationships and high standards of service and quality. The position requires compliance with applicable company procedures, Federal Motor Carrier Act requirements, state laws, and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (T.A.B.C.) regulations.

Requirements

A valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record must be maintained.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must be authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
Basic computer and math skills.
Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team and assist with various tasks as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling; occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing; and use of hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

A valid CDL license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify that the correct orders are loaded onto the truck before departure from the warehouse.
Assist the driver with delivery, sales, and truck maintenance procedures and processes.
Help maintain adequate inventory levels at customer accounts to reduce or eliminate out-of-stock situations.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide exceptional service.
Audit point-of-sale (P.O.S.) materials at customer accounts to ensure quality brand representation.
Monitor product freshness and ensure proper rotation or removal of products according to company standards.
Complete assigned training, seminars, and classes.
Sell products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. regulations.
Ensure assisted deliveries comply with T.A.B.C. regulations, state laws, and L&F Distributors' quality standards.
Assist the Delivery Driver with regular updates to support accountability for operational procedures and management of out-of-code products related to freshness and expiration.
Assist with routine audits to verify products are within expiration dates and meet applicable standards.
Accurately complete and submit required reports in a timely manner.
Perform job duties in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Act.
Perform other duties as assigned by management or a designee.
