About The Position

The Assistant Director is responsible, together with the School Director, for the safe and effective operation of the school and for achieving Learning Care Group’s safety vision. In the Director’s absence, the Assistant Director has sole responsibility for the school. The role also assists in promoting children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth. Assistant Directors help ensure the school meets company and state licensing standards, foster a caring and safe environment for children and parents, support children’s learning and development, promote the company’s image in the community, recruit and retain quality staff, and help achieve company profitability.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have previous leadership experience.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet state education requirements and the center/school requirements.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
• Foster an educational, caring, and safe environment for children and parents.
• Promote children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Support children in building self-esteem, using their imagination, and discovering new things.
• Promote a positive image of the company in the communities it serves.
• Recruit, select, and retain quality staff.
• Help achieve profitability for the company.
• Share responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the school with the School Director.
• Assume sole responsibility for the school in the Director’s absence.
