About The Position

The Assistant Director of Student Success Programs provides high-impact academic, professional, and personal support for undergraduate students within the College of Engineering from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. The Assistant Director will manage the day-to-day programmatic and operational needs of special programs, such as the Clark Scholars Program and Student Transition Engineering Program (STEP), ensuring each program runs smoothly and meets its goals within established guidelines and deadlines. The Assistant Director will help students connect to other student services to support retention, graduation, and individual well-being. In addition to leading these programs, the Assistant Director provides stewardship of meeting rooms and general-use spaces, ensuring these environments are well managed, welcoming, and supportive of student success and community building.

This position reports to the Executive Director and requires a highly motivated individual who can deliver a high level of interactive customer service while developing and maintaining collaborative relationships within the College and University environment.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree (or a bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience) in Engineering, Education, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, or a relevant field
• Experience working in a student-focused setting, such as academic advising, classroom instruction, counseling, or related student services.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent tools for document creation, data management, and electronic file organization in a professional setting.
• Ability to travel occasionally and work weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

• Proven record of excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated history of program or project management and event planning
• Experience hiring and supervising undergraduate students
• Experience owning a recurring newsletter or regular audience communication channel from concept to distribution.
