Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County. Since the organization’s inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members. Today, Shelter House is a successful and reputable organization of over 200 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence. In the last year, our compassionate team of individuals changed the lives of nearly 4,000 individuals, half of which were children. You will oversee the daily residential operations at Artemis House Region I and directly supervise residential staff (full time, part time, and on call). This role combines administrative leadership and hands on service delivery. You will work closely with the Director of Artemis House Region I and Assistant Director of Programs to ensure safe, trauma informed, and compliant services. This position includes rotating on call duties and occasional evening work.
