About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a leadership role supporting quality resident care, nursing staff, and regulatory compliance. The position requires dependability, strong clinical judgment, multitasking, and collaboration in a dynamic environment. The ADON may assist with floor staffing, contributes to resident-care and quality programs, manages nursing staff, maintains accurate documentation, helps develop individualized care plans, ensures staff have timely access to care resources, and implements infection-control measures.

Requirements

Be a licensed nurse in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
Have strong technical skills and proven leadership or management experience.
Have a background in geriatric or long-term care nursing.
Embrace a restorative care philosophy and demonstrate strong assessment and communication skills.
Have working knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Assist with floor staffing when needed.
Contribute to MDS, care planning, Performance Improvement, and Infection Control programs.
Hire, train, evaluate, assign, and delegate nursing duties based on census and budget needs.
Review and maintain accurate, up-to-date resident records.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and consultants to develop individualized care plans.
Ensure timely access to equipment, supplies, and other care resources for staff.
Conduct assessments and implement effective infection-control measures.
