About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a leadership role supporting quality resident care, nursing staff, and regulatory compliance. The role requires dependability, strong clinical judgment, multitasking, and collaboration in a dynamic environment. The ADON may assist with floor staffing and contributes to resident-care programs, including MDS, care planning, performance improvement, and infection control. The position also oversees nursing staff, documentation, care planning, access to care resources, and infection-control measures.

Requirements

• Be a licensed nurse in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
• Have strong technical skills and proven leadership or management experience.
• Have a background in geriatric or long-term care nursing.
• Embrace a restorative care philosophy and have strong assessment and communication skills.
• Have working knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with floor staffing when needed.
• Contribute to MDS, care planning, Performance Improvement, and Infection Control programs.
• Hire, train, evaluate, assign, and delegate nursing duties based on census and budget needs.
• Review and maintain accurate, up-to-date resident records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and consultants to develop individualized care plans.
• Ensure timely access to equipment, supplies, and other care resources.
• Conduct assessments and implement effective infection-control measures.
